Hi,

I am trying to install the picasa sharing plugin from extras. I noticed that it does not show up in the App Manager any more (it was there before PR 1.2).
When I try to install it manually I always get:
Code:
Nokia-N900:~# apt-get install sharing-service-picasa
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Handler silently failed
Nokia-N900:~#
To me this means that the package is broken. IMHO there should be no broken packages in extras, so it would probably good to remove the package (developer does not respond to my bug report).

What to do in such a situation? Where can I report bugs about broken packages?

You could log a bug against the repository in bugzilla - I think that would be done here, selecting "Repositories" as the component.

I installed it directly from .deb and it works.

On my N900 I went:

http://maemo.org/packages/view/sharing-service-picasa/

then chose to go to Releases:

http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...-picasa/1.2.3/

and clicked on the .deb. This installed it ok. Later it found that it had updates in Extras-testing and I could update too.

I am sharing picture in Drop Box as I write ....
