Read somewhere here that one of you through some software magic and memory card dependence managed to make pages load faster and improve the general all around "snappiness" of the machine; which the lag kills me albeit on a new machine... Please advise.

Almost certainly cloning your OS to MMC or SD card.

Try this tutorial.

I have the n800 - is this worth doing? How much faster would running the OS on SD card be?
