Well, I'm not allowed to discuss politics here, but I'll say this onto you:
You could use a history book. You might have to import one. Also, book not movie. Until that time, veer over to Wikipedia, search for the WW2 casualties and sort by number. Wars aren't won by those who declare victory.
If this sparked your curiosity, you could do some research on the other people you quoted up there. I would enlighten you, but this isn't the place.
Oh, and, to the OP: America's birthday isn't today. The US's is.
