Hi, long-time lurker, first-time poster.

I've been an avid Nokia/Jolla fan for quite a number of years. I had the N700, the N800, the N810, the N900, and the Jolla phone. I've still got the N900 and the Jolla phone, but I don't use them much because I live in the U.S. now and the Jolla phone only works 2G (and the N900 is really showing it's age in the software department).

If it makes anyone feel better, I bought an Xperia X and I'm really hoping that Jolla comes out with some good news this week. I've got the new phone sitting on my desk, ready to flash. I suppose if it doesn't happen, I can just sell it...

Still no release, BUT some nice and also important facts in this post.

In short: CBeta members will get the image within the next weeks. It seems like they want to provide the image bundled with an easy to use installer, which is very nice in my opinion.

And this option probably will be just exec'ing 'fastboot flash X' commands in recovery mode.

Annoying, the link to the Xperia X in the article doesn't work - they used this link:

https://www.sonymobile.com/global-en...specifications

but they should have used this:

https://www.sonymobile.com/global-en...specifications

At least they must have something ready to release to beta testers... I guess how long we have left to wait will depend on how many bugs they find!

Told you it would be an epic wait

My next bet:
Next step will be that they changing target device to get more time like they did with screens for tablet.

The wait is on.

As they wrote they want to hold the number of community devices low. Devices with similar chipsets to the X have a higher chance to get a port of SFOS than others. If the X compact is very similar (I don't know), chances are high. That's what I got from the post.
