From the tech specs page (http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/specifications/) it doesn't seem as Chinese support is planned for the N900, at least for release.

Is this planned in a future update in Maemo? Is there current work on Chinese Language Support?

What is included in "Language Support"? Does this involve interface internationalization and the whole package?

Would Maemo5 at least support Chinese the display and input of Chinese characters with the release of N900?

I found this: http://maemocjk.garage.maemo.org/, but it only talks about the N800 series. Unsurprising, because the N900 isn't available yet. But would this still be the only method for people in need of reading/writing Chinese?

I don't need localization/internationalization of the entire UI, although there are probably quite a few people that would like that.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

In the "Why is N900 without the Chinese language?" thread, Peet posted some ideas on adding support for Chinese. I believe that's been the only discussion thus far.

Ah, thanks. For some reason, neither my search nor the automated search found that.

Although, now that I look at it. It is because I didn't search in the N900 forum, which I thought was only for hardware.
