Does HTML5 work with your N9 web browser? I tried to watch video on youtube but It can't play video ( I enabled youtube HTML5) . It's turning and turning ... When I clicked on the screen , N9 open a player and can just play the audio .
When I go to m.youtube , it works

I tries with another HTML5 music site but it's a fail . The web browser can's play music . It stuck at the loading stage

How about hardware acceleration?

Could someone with an N9 pls try out the JQuery mobile page transitions here (2D CSS), and the WebGL demos here (3D)? Both should be hardware accelerated.

For reference, the iOS Safari (iPad2) does the 2D stuff flawlessly, but it craps out on the 3D WebGL.

Bonus points for testing all three browsers (stock, Fennec, Opera).

Bonus bonus points for making a youtube video.

i only have fennec installed currently so no opera tests,

stock
2d css- no smooth animations. checkered boxes for a bit then the dialog pops up
3d - webgl not supported

fennec
2d css- no checkered boxes but no animation either. the dialog pops up immediately
3d - it says compiled successfully (but fennec becomes laggy -- abit)

Thanks for the quick check, spectra. Doesn't sound incredibly encouraging though.. Was this with PR1.0 or 1.1?

Afaik internal browser is webkit based, which is continuously worked on, obviously the internal browser would likewise need to be kept up to date (by Nokia) for all the new enhancements to trickle down to the end-user.

Is anyone working on a Chromium port for the N9? Or any other browser that can utilize the N9's hardware well?

Firefox might have blacklisted your GPU, they just like to do that. You might have a look at about:config and set webgl.force_enabled -> true, but that didn't help on my laptop either.

On my desktop Chromium is faster than FF with these things. FF still has all those great plugins tough

Also, music sites like ex.fm or grooveshark.com no play audio :/
I was hoping for a fix with PR 1.2 ..
