I am trying to use my Nokia N800 to connect to the internet thru the bluetooth of my Sony Ericsson W580i on AT&T wireless network.
I have the MEDIA MAX unlimited data plan

My Connection settings are as follows:
Access point name: wap.cingular
Dial-up number: *99***1#
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

I get Internet connection failed message.

Tried *99# and no password, still no go.
Any one have any ideas?

Try *99# as the number and CINGULAR1 as the password.

FYI...you need a data plan that allows"tethering" or you will be in violation of your AT&T service agreement.

Thought I would contribute a bit.
I just got a z750a from att. It is their new 3G flip phone. Connectivity is working great with MediaNet unlimited.

My Connection settings are as follows:
Access point name: wap.cingular
Dial-up number: *99***3#
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

Best of luck

I just bought a z750a and I can connect my 810 via bluetooth for things like remote control and media player but not as a modem. I don't even know where to put this information.

Access point name: wap.cingular
Dial-up number: *99***3#
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

Does this go in the phone or NIT? Could someone point me to where I go to put in these settings?

Thanks
Eric

FYI

I figured it out. If you go here

http://www.pocketables.net/2008/01/how-to-tether-a.html

and put in the above settings then it should work. I don't have an unlocked or unbranded phone I got it direct from ATT with the MediaNet added on.
