Since other threads mostly focus on Harmattan I open this one here for more focused discussion.

Other threads for the reference:
Qt based Fennec (Firefox) - IPCLiteAPI - Hell it's fast!
QmlMozBrowser for Harmattan.

As per Romaxa, there is hope that Jetpack based Firefox mobile add-ons and Firefox OS applications will work with Embedlite.

The Sailfish browser will be also based on the Gecko engine, according to this:

More precisely it's based on Embedlite

What is the advantage of Embedlite over typical webkit based mobile browsers? Is Opera being a member of the Sailfish alliance primarily of benefit to non-Jolla Sailfish phoned?

Well, you have a lot better chance to get Firefox OS HTML5 apps running

Also I like Gecko, it's the browsing engine that freed me from crappy Internet Explorer and bloated Netscape back then. Why should there be only one mobile HTML rendering engine? After all, MicroB on N900 was also Gecko based with a similar approach as embedlite (based on GTK instead of Qt/QML).

It would be nice if they could leverage Firefox OS Web apps. The greater the interoperability the greater the benefit of Sailfish.

About installing CuteFox from the above repository on :
- Nemo Mobile (VM i486), it is ok, but CuteFox is very slow, it freezes and I can't type anything in the address bar;
- Sailfish Emulator, it doesn't install at all due to missing "libssl3.so", but "ldconfig -p | grep -i ssl" shows :
libssl3.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/libssl3.so
Maybe Sailfish Emulator is using an old Nemo image and CuteFox is incompatible ?

So, does anybody know how to install and use CuteFox without the above problems ?
