That looks perfect. The 'PLAY' is coming from the Audio Backend but from there it's supposed to buffer, set the position, and start.

Do you get a timer that counts down at all? (underneath the album art)

Edit: Also, in the menu, do you have a 'set max audio' button to click? I set it up for N8x0 users and since you don't have an FM transmitter I think it'll show up in there.
there is no track progress indicator under the album art once the app thinks that it's started to play.

There IS a max audio option on the menu. Don't seem to do much.

is this the link you keep referring to in order to redownload the deb and install the pyRadio on the n9?

ok, it installed fine without error. but no icon on the apps page.

how do we launch it from the terminal?

Yep, that's the link.

Run it with:
/opt/pyradio/pyradio.py

If you type this you'll get an icon:
(as root)
cp /usr/lib/applications/hildon/pyradio.desktop /usr/lib/applications


But for it to run, you'll need to do this first:

apt-get install python-pyside
apt-get install python-gi python-gobject
apt-get install python-central

Then download and install the following with dpkg -i
http://sheeplauncher.net/debs/python...b0m6_armel.deb

I'm away from my phone right now so I haven't had a chance to install the updated .deb yet....

Okay, just tried the new .deb. Looks like you're going back and trying to use mplayer again, right?

This one does not launch. I'm on my N9 now so I can't copy and paste the terminal output, but I've uploaded screenshot as the next best thing:

when i run this:

cp /usr/lib/applications/hildon/pyradio.desktop /usr/lib/applications

i get:

cp: can't stat '/usr/lib/applications/hildon/pyradio.desktop': No such fileo r directory



and when i run:

/opt/pyradio/pyradio.py


i get:

sh: /opt/pyradio/pyradio.py: not found

So... no module called GTK.

And before you ask, I've checked apt-cache search:

I don't think your pyradio.deb file installed correctly as that would have unpacked both files.

Try running the apt-get install commands I said to, then do this:

dpkg -r pyradio

Then do another command line installation of the pyradio.deb file.
