hmm that is actually doable with the quicklaunch bar,
which in turn is accesible via swype from quickbar .
There are two views in the app
- 5 last used apps
- quicklaunch bar apps (same .desktop files)
The icons should change as you use your apps or as you chabge the quicklaunch ones. If not, there is a bug, please let me.know and ill fix asap!

sorry but when using swipe with Quickbar it doesn't work with Quicklaunchbar. Then it's showing default same 4 apps! What to do?
Edit: let's see after one more reboot it seems to work!

A restart of the app should fix the issue (as the quicklaunch bar items are loaded at start up).

If I understand correctly, ProfileMatic starts Quickbar. So this is not ProfileMatic's bug. If ProfileMatic manages to start the application then what happens after that in the application is not in ProfileMatic's hands. Have tried to find the execúte line for Quickbar desktop in /usr/share/applications/quickbar.desktop to send you a log but can't find quickbar.desktop file? Where to find it?
Edit: by the way the swipe to default quicklaunch not working when failure.
