Pity it didn't also apply to the # of thanks counter, that would have been an extra 524288 karma points.

so whats the point with tizen then!? Do you really beleive anyone is intrested in yet another android os? Why dont just go for android if it only support android sdk? In case of html5 n9 already has it, webos too and so on...

dont get me wrong because tizen may be promising if they start liste to the foss community too. But Qt is a must. Its good for linux on desktop/tablet to if more using it. For me qml fits well in combo with html5...

A few points with tizen, please add more.
Force google to improve android.
Speed up the transition from flash to html5.
More customable for vendors.
Great performance when it comes to html5.
Linux in pocket.
Mobile vendors are more free from Google.
Less patenttrolling.

But then again, we still don't know enough about products, releases and vendors yet. But don't shut it down until you see the first launch, please.

You make some good points there mate. This could be how HTC are seeing things too with Tizen having a likeness to android already and the open mobile layer already running. HTC could just slap there Sense UI on the top of Tizen and with having access to the Android market, the everyday consumer may not even notice that they are running a completely different OS at all. Free from google, free from the Patent Trolls and free to make changes to make any changes to how they see fit.

And being HTC, you could bet on them releasing 57 handsets before breakfast time.
