On a flight from California to New York last week I pulled out my N800 and watched one of my favorite movies. Not much reaction from the guy seated next to me until I paired my external bluetooth gps receiver and monitored our plane's position on a Virtual Earth map. Although I did have a window seat, the gps receiver was placed on the pull-down tray.

Personally, my transition from n800 to ipod touch is complete. I now have the ability to use a bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth dun with my phone's data connection. Yes, I had to pay for these things, but all told it was cheaper than my inflation-adjusted n800 price. Wish I could change the batteries, however.

I'm with you Den. I bought mine in 2006 and for the life of me can't imagine why I'd give it up. I stream hometown radio, check my mail, call with Skype and Gizmo, take the occasional note, photo, etc. It's been my faithful companion on all my frequent travel around Europe and Asia. And with my B Speech GPS receiver I get great GPS navigation on my scooter - very useful here in Kuala Lumpur. I'll be in home in the States this summer and will probably buy a used on eBay, given a price of about $100.
