The last code is two lines actually. The uninstall procedure is this:
sudo gainroot
killall imhere-0.3
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/imhere-0.3.prerm
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/imhere-0.3.postinst
dpkg --purge --force-remove-reinstreq imhere-0.3

The app needed an email gateway to send email and the dev set up a gmail account dedicated for that purpose. If you are privacy-conscious then that trips a flag and you don't use the email feature, but it doesn't mean he intended to steal information.

This new app looks like a promising replacement for imhere:

Please, help me! I forgot my config password. When I re-install this application I still not able to configure it. There is some hidden files that contains the configuration. Anyone can help me to restore config-password or access config GUI to get this application working again?

Look two posts up You may try this approach at your own risk. None of these commands should be dangerous to run, but be on the safe side and perform a backup first, just in case.

Code:
sudo gainroot
killall imhere-0.3
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/imhere-0.3.prerm
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/imhere-0.3.postinst
dpkg --purge --force-remove-reinstreq imhere-0.3
I have added this to the I Am Here wiki page as well, since it might be a bit tedious to find this solution in the (soon) 50 page long thread.

Hi everybody.

I had the same problem (errors..) with uninstall imhere-0.3. Helped me, when I started imhere (/etc/init.d/imhere-0.3. start) before, and after start I removed it (apt-get remove --purge imhere-0.3) succesfully without errors .

One good example, and a learning experience, why closed source applications should not be trusted in the first place. Now maybe we will never know what was in our devices. Although candy would look really delicious, do not eat it if you do not know its ingredients.
Check here for the open source better solution:
