In case that Nokia at some point in the future concentrates on MeeGo and does not put much efforts anymore into Maemo5, are there plans to also provide community updates for Maemo5 (or have you been in contact with Nokia to find out)?

I have no such plans personally (the N900 is wrong for my needs so I never bought one and thus have no itch to scratch) but if anyone else wants to start and needs pointers feel free to ping me. The existing maemo.org repositories are already capable of hosting a Fremantle community SSU btw, but I suspect the multiple regional/operator-specific variants are going to make this work a bit of a pain in the neck.

One piece of advise: don't waste time waiting for Nokia to come out and say "Fremantle is officially EOL", they won't (and still haven't for Diablo). I'm only guessing and have no inside information, but from what I see I think once PR1.3 is released it would be a good time to start.

(BTW hrw had started an updates repository with similar goals a while ago).

nokia have never officially EOL'd anything. One day it just never gets shipped to stores, and some time later vanishes from their product list. They have a corporate mentality heavily geared towards the latest and shiniest disposable.

When you can't get parts your device is EOL and you are SOL.

The overall font on my tablet turned super dinky.

This is like the second time now after upgrading to the Community SSU.

The only two programs I've been using as of late is Xmms and Aisleriot when when this happened.

Any way to get the font back to normal without a reboot?

killall kill hildon-desktop didn't do anything for this.

Thanks.

Ah garbage, I'll do is next time. Just ended doing yet another reboot.

So far, my tablet has had about 6 reboots within the past month. I had none for almost a year before the upgrade.

Maybe I'm installing some other stupid junk that's causing the weirdness.

Oh well.

Actually I still don't understand how those tags are relevant to this thread...
