Oh dear, you should warn your fellows before asking for such camera-ui destroying feature

Checked yesterday on N9 and it works (a bit).
Then in the night with N950 and after fiddling with setting the camera-ui did not start anymore. Thought it was due to battery almost empty and recharged ig this morning. Started cam and the same: camera does not react. Close program or restart device.
So I checked with gconf and reset fastCapture to 'no'. Still the same! Then I unset full cam ui gconf and killed cam-ui and it came back!
Then set again continuous shutter mode and tried to shoot a series. Only one shot was made and after that cam-ui was again unresponsive.

So long story short: NO, on N950 it seems fastCapture does not work

Not the next one but I will try doing it the one after the next one.

It's been already a long time and I feel I need to release something.

I have been busy pushing the sailfish side of the planet. Now that I have a sailfish RPM to release, I can resume improving the rest of the stuff

Sorry for your bad experience but I also said that camera locks up

It's enough to unset the key (gconftool-2 -u) and reboot (or kill camera-ui). I should have mentioned that. My bad!

Anyway, I guess that N950 + fast capture don't play nice together. Thank you for testing.

0.0.23 is out:
* Don't try to reverse geocode if we don't have a valid position from the GPS
* Reset camera back to viewfinder mode if it is minimized while in another view
* Clear geocoding data when we get an invalid position from the GPS
* Reworked how the sound effects are being played
* Move the resolution indicator to the toolbar

There is now a Sailfish OS thread with an initial release here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=93256

Yeah you said 'lock up' but I interpreted it as a close-reopen-issue.
But do not worry it took me only a few minutes (and offered me a bit of adrenaline ))

why did you move the resolution indicator to the toolbar?
looks weird and it's a bit confusing because it's not a button...

if this is about the space issue (12MP doesn't fit in the box) I have a suggestion to fix that.

Why don't you align the indicator box (upper left) horizontally -> parallel to the long side of the screen.....?

like this:

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
//.....(indicators)................................. ......................... //
//.................................................. ............................... //
//.................................................. ............................... //
//.................................................. .......................(sb).. //
//.................................................. ............................... //
//.................................................. ........................(sw).//
//.....(------------------------toolbar--------------------------)....//
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

sb=shutter
sw=switch mode

I moved it because:
1) not enough space and we wanted to shrink it a bit
2) Indicators for video resolution are small and I cannot differentiate them myself. I also needed new ones for Sailfish 1080p resolution and I am bad at graphics.
3) It can be converted to a button ;-)

If we go by the layout you are proposing, where would the zoom slider be? (And no I will not have pinch zooming and I will not remove the slider completely).

1.) well if it's align horizontally you have as much space as you need

2.) I can help with that if you want! just tell me what you need exactly

3.) that would work of course....

as for the zoom slider:

what about aligning that vertically to the left edge of the screen?
pushing the slider up zooms in, pushing it down zooms out...
thoughts?
