also i remember at the launch of the n9, a dev from nokia had mentioned that changing the theme was relatively easier to do than changing the icons as in Symbian as there is only one file name for the icons and while coding for the apps, the dev would point the launcher for the app's icon to this folder.

icons for 3rd party apps could be created and changed as per a user's requirement but the theme could be changed by all. just my 2 pence...

I recentry look the 80x80 folder and yes... they are all in there but if i modifiy one of them, the icon will change not for this theme only, and i will loose the original.

Im trying with the opera icon now (operamobile-labs.png) in the theme folder with operamobile-labs.png and icon-l-operamobile-labs.png but no luck! even i tried in the folder /usr/share/icons/mytheme/

ohh.. true, the original is with nvgs

The 3rd party icons are important. I can say you that because as theme developer the main user complaint is the lack of these and is the most laborious

They managed to add background to the statusbar

and this is the thread about how to change icons:

/usr/share/themes/blanco/meegotouch/icons/ seems to be the location for blanco

If you ask me.. i would say yes but i'm really an ignnorant in programming, so i couldn't help you there

I agree that TPIs are not a priority right now

But if you ask me what i want.. (lets dream early )

- The theme packaged in a deb installable file that could be uninstalled
- The theme should appears in desktop with an icon like any other app. (making the theme independent of theme changer app)

i said desktop to make it more harmattan standard... desktop icon wouldnt be my choice neither
For ex: i don't like browser bookmark as icon but is the standard

Like symbian in setup menu/themes would be better
