as said previously i would really rather not DOWNGRADE my device to a single tasking FEATUREPHONE os from the MULTITASKING SMARTPHONE os it runs currently

Would be kind of fun to have iOS running as a virtual machine. I guess it one would first have to make the iphone hw emulation stuff. I mean I enjoy running UAE even though it's a bit of a downgrade from maemo. iOS would be fun just for the hell of it

Well, as fas as i remember, for an Hackintosh (OSX 10.5.X) we need an EFI Bootloader which can be installed on any Intel Machine (AMD also, but Intel is more close onto the orig.) iOS is based upon OSX, so that being sad, we could try to port this bootloader onto our n900.
If i remember correctly, there was also OpeniBoot for the iPhone 2g and 3G so they also could boot Android.
I fully understand that we are Linux users and love our advantages, but i think this would be some really good peace of cake we could bake^__^
If i have completed my exams by Monday, i will start learning coding...
I´ll see what it gives after some time.

i feel bad for people new to forums, they don't realize that most people use forums for pure fun and that includes ridiculing new people that don't know the unwritten rules.
iphone would have been a great device if it weren't for all the things apple is known for - if it weren't for apple crippling it. its a huge insult to our intelligence that its made into a closed OS, no memory expansion etc. they don't think we actually want to use our devices and simply want to buy crap from itunes through it. apple would sell you an alarm clock on which you have to pay a subscription for the current time.
i love my n800 and the n900 seems to be a great phone. but, my next phone is gonna be a Dell Streak.

maybe for some this will sound stupid or whatever, but I try it anyway.
Since apple is linux, maemo is too, and android also, ppl have succeed to port a nice part of android to the n900.
Is it possible, altough it's "kinda" closed source, to port iOS to the n900?
