We'll have to find time for this - I don't know if I'll have time this month - but we can all at least start by taking a look in the Waze source code:
http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/Source_code
Now, I'm not quite sure which one of these versions might fit us best - but I suspect we can easily count-out the iPhone version as it uses a different input method than the rest of the versions (capacitive screen with multi-touch). I'm leaning towards the Symbian version, but if you got any other ideas we need to hear it...

Ok, let us know (;
Symbian or android version sounds right, though I think we will need to convert this to Qt, which will be the best idea.

The list used to be a lot longer... maybe someday soon I can finally retire my N95!
maemo-geolocation allows you to use your GPS on google maps/latitude. And for a really excellent sports tracker you have ecoach - it does much more than the basic GPS track stuff.

I hope you are young, since there are many more years to come before we actually do this (;

I am not even sure if that version on waze.com includes all the hebrew portion of the program...

I think it does. Anyways the Symbian version looks like most of it is written in C
I'm guessing we only need to make changes in the UI, but I can't find my arms and legs in the source code libraries - I'll take a deeper look at it when I'll be back home from work and maybe read some documentation...

Not 1 mm by my end.
To be honest I was waiting for PR1.2 to get released so that the new QT 4.6.2 Mobility platform will be out.
And since it was released, (SDK + QtCreator) I am playing with C++/Qt a lot, but there are a lot of bugs in the libraries when I run it on my phone cause it's only leaked PR1.2.

When PR1.2 Gets released I think i'll get deeper in business with this.
