There's apparently a 640GB flash drive on its way to market now..

There a huge size difference between a flash drive (that usually goes in a 2.5" laptop bay) and a SD(HC) card.

Unless he actually was talking about a full-sized drive based on SD cards...

Well... I plan to hold off purchasing the 16GB SDHC card until the new tablet comes out: There is a possibility that it may no longer have full size SDHC slot...

Just a friendly advice for someone with plans to upgrade...

I've been buying micro SDs as a default lately, since there are adapters to get them to mini or normal sized.

Absolutely not...

EDIT: Well, it turned out to be an actual I/O card and not (yet?) embedded as a disk replacement.

(@ another poster: Of course there's a difference between a flash drive and a flash card, but this thread turned into a general flash storage thread already, didn't it?)

I just want to know why they specified SDHC so shortsighted. There are already 32GB SDHC Prototypes. 32GB is the limit for SDHC.... I hope they think a bit further next time.

About SSD: Some company had a 2.5" 250GB SSD. I don't know what its name was. In general SSD has a huge potential for speed. Most of them consist of multiple chips. So you could put all these chips in a Raid 0 in theory inside the harddrive.

If you can buy the next IT from Nokia I guess you can at least preorder 32GB cards. You could put 64GB of diskspace in this small thing. Thats more than my 3year old laptop...

I wouldn't do that if I were you: It's been hinted already on this forum that the next version of Nokia's tablet might not have (two?) SD slots anymore.

I kinda like it how Nokia keeps finding ways to f*ck its user base. It's almost cute -- you know, cute as that dribbling ***** cousin the family only lets out of the cellar at Christmas.
