the virtual keyboard on one of those images looks a bit like the one we know from the PR1.2 SDK.

Really looking forward to this thing. I probably would have jumped on a meego phone with 850 3G, but sweet lady Xenon calls.

This thing is a comms monster
It works on every band going

GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100
Automatic switching between WCDMA & GSM bands
Flight mode

AND has wireless N and lowpower blutooth, AND USB on the go

For anybody interested...
There is now also a 2nd Q&A session on the same site:

Nice to see actual answers to most questions.

Also good background info on the camera design at Nokia Conversations (This link has been posted before, but there are good answers in the comments thread by Damian Dinning - well worth checking out):

It certainly looks like the roles have been switched.
So does anyone know what processor this uses?

I've heard some people say it's arm 11, with the same gpu as the zune hd.

And other sites say it's cortex a8, but a newer version.

So is there an official word?

If anything, it's a slightly newer OMAP 3 chip. If Nokia were using Tegra, Nvidia would be trumpeting that up and down the street.

Thanks for the correction Olvi and nosa101! I totally missed reading "WLAN IEEE802.11 b/g/n".

My interest is in getting a device for travel (the original reason for getting the N770) and this pretty much has everything. A higher resolution screen would have been nice, but the res is decent enough. Hopefully it'll get Skype/Google Voice/SIP.

(The N900 is too expensive to potentially lose. The N8 comes in at a much better price point starting out, which may mean $350 range in the wild at some point.)

Good going Nokia! A Maemo/Meego device with these specs wouldn't be too bad either... (hint hint)

Its an ARM 11 680MHz processor and not one from a cortex A8 series.

& I'm guessing the GPU is a Broadcom BCM2727
http://www.broadcom.com/press/release.php?id=1057720

Seems to match the specs listed for the N8, plus some website mentioned about the GPU being a Broadcom unit.

Probably the most disappointing aspect of this phone will be the paltry 1200 mah battery this thing is packing. It looks like it has some beast hardware but it has an even smaller, non removable battery compared to the N900!
