Thanks for Your reply, I have since last attempted installation reformatted my n800 and started using it as before, everything is working, but I have no KDE. The only file left is kde-mmc1 in Application manager, installed appl. which cannot be deleted, uninstalled or reinstalled (keeps asking for update and fails doing it. If I could remove it, I would try again the installation, have all four files on my PC.
Here is the very long log file.

NOTE: cannot send the log, it's longer then 10000 char. I will cut of the second half and try it again.

hildon-application-manager 2.0.2

You are trying to uninstall, but the log is showing an installation.

Can you clear your log

try uninstall again

paste new log here

Copy and paste are your friends,

there is a space between find and /

find /var NOT find/var

O.K. this time it ran differently: sorry I cannot copy and paste, n800 crashed, with black screen, when I connected it to PC. So here is what appeared in Xterm:
"rm: cannot remove '/var/lib/dpkg/info/kde-mmc1" this was common in all four lines, then comes:
.postinst': Permission denied
.list':Permission denied
.md5sums': Permission denied
.postrm':Permission denied
Application manager couldnot uninstall, logged basically the same message as in the past.
Maybe I should leave it alone for now and continue after I do reflash the OS, which I feel is coming soon.

Did you not use the sudo in the command. Its not running as root.

sudo find /var -name kde-mmc1* | xargs rm -rf

or

sudo gainroot

find /var -name kde-mmc1* | xargs rm -rf

You would need to install becomeroot, but what happens when you just use the line begining with sudo?

or run

sudo su - (instead of sudo gainroot)

then do the

find /var blah blah

???
