ok ok. so you agree that this thread is pointless.

its 100% unrelated to maemo and the n900. and anyother hardware device that exists today?


plus like the op said earlier the voltage from a hdmi is far too low to charge the device anyway?

maybe ill waste a brainstorm thread asking if its possible to charge my device using friction! sorry

Easy, buy a short HDMI cable and an additional charger for the n900, then splice them

the usb DOES NOT transmit the tv out signal so splicing them will do nout

Oh I didn't realize you wanted to charge and do video out from the same cable. Well in that case its impossible.

That's true. The purpose of this is to allow the source to drive ddc electronics inside the sink even if the sink isn't switched on. This way a computer can e.g. determine screen size and type correctly even if the screen is not powerwed on (yet).
