If the N900 is a good product then a few weeks delay won't impact it. If the N900 is a bad product (cough N97) then being on time wouldn't have helped it.

I think it'll be a good product and I'll be happy to get one in my hands. If that happens before Christmas I'll be happy.

Well look at it this way, if they say the 39th of November afterwards we will know not to believe it!

Depends how they can spin it. The charger news having gone out at 9AM didn't help.

I'm not saying, comprehensively, that this *is* it, this is just my personal interpretation of what might have happened.

It's hard to see how this could have happened by accident; Nokia UK clearly had a consistent line of the 9th from somewhere and it was clearly posted here; if it wasn't true one of the several Nokia folks here could have just corrected the mistake.

A little honesty really shouldn't be too much to expect.

Yep the sales support drones can only say the date that's on the screen in front of them.

It might be wise to remember that ALL the current published dates online (including MPD) are all guess work, we will know when the N900 gets released and that when Nokia tells us - not before.

Chill people it's only a phone... ahem... sorry "Mobile Computer".

It's quite easy to see how it happens, actually.

"So chaps, I just got off the phone with HQ. we finally have a launch date for the N900, part number GONEOQGNEQOGNEQIOG. The 9th of November."

All it needs is one person to mishear or typo from the chain of the person making the decision all the way down to UK retail, and you've got the 9th instead of the 19th.
