Yeah, i think i have seen that one. If it is from his blog. Do you have a link? The one on the blog is not a full explanaition though. I do understand the basics but still a greate noob on the procedure thus need a step by step guide. That i have not been able to find yet.

1. Install Easy Debian on your N900.
2. Download and decompress this Ubuntu image: ubuntu-m5-v1.img.ext2.lzma
3. Edit /home/user/.chroot to point to the Ubuntu image
4. Use the "Debian chroot" icon to get to an Ubuntu root terminal.
5. apt-get install the necessary packages to run Gnome
6. modify the xephwm5 script to start Gnome on DISPLAY :1 instead of LXDE (but why Gnome? )

You might also need the /bin/qobi-wmhint-fix binary from the current Easy Debian image, or you can get it from this post. This fixes keyboard problems better...

Thanks Qole! But where do i find the xephwm5 file... in etc/ ?

I like Gnome better and are used to it.. i might consider Unity too. LXDE feels to simple..

Did not work.. got "Depends: gnome-desktop-environment (= 1:2.22.2~5) but is not going to be installed" ..and a couple of other dependencies.

so guess it didn't work.
