yeah, who wants to wear a wire behind their neck? its like having a hearing aid, attached to a pacemaker, attached to my n900. do you have to shove it down your shirt and out one of your button holes to plug into your phone?
just put the mic on one of the wires, like this.

It's kind of strange that many people don't understand why one wire is longer than the other. The long wire goes around the back of the neck and fits in the opposing ear.
