Don't know if this is any use to you. I do a small white blink in the middle of a coloured blink. For example, a missed call blinks red with a small white blink in the middle. Maybe you'll have to try it to understand what I mean!
BTW installing LED Pattern Editor makes it a bit easier to edit with the two LED engines.
