My gets hot when I'm watching flash videos or when I play on psx4m for a long time.
But when I for example read books it doesn't heat up.

I have two n900's
the first one I purchased when it was released is really good and does not overheat. however the second one becomes very hot without me doing anything with it. I have removed the battery and it seems to be burning hot.

I dont know what the problem is, my original one has so much more apps and is overclocked, this one isnt so why is it overheating with practically no use?
can anyone help me?

thanks in advance

trying running QIK live video streamer, not tested it on my n900 but on my 5800mx omg that phone really did get too hot to hold
you got to think thought its sending 3g, receiving 3g, using the camera, more then likely 100% of the cpu

I would try flashing. You might also see if removing the sim or mmc makes a difference.

There's always the possibility that it's not the 900 but actually a duff battery...

I have installed savecpu, however Im not and will not overclock the n900, so do I actually need that app?
I have reflashed the phone, but the problem seems still to be present,
I shall try to use another battery instead to see if the problem still occurs.

but before I do that, I have noticed something, on this n900, when not in use, its constantly around 20% at 500 mhz, I know that at stock, the min should be at 250 mhz. but this one doesnt go there. could that be the reason?

I overlock my n900 for min 850mhz and max 1000mhz (for gaming) and my warmest temp (battery) is about 44°c which I also get from stock.
