Can someone explain to me why forwarding emails on my n900 is a pain?

The n900 doesnt really forward the email but wraps it up in an eml file. wich is kind of strange if you ask me.

can this be changed?

If the email is in HTML format it seems to wrap it up, but if it's normal text then it will forward as normal. I assume this is because modest cannot edit it when in HTML format.

Well, I'm looking for a workaround for years and nothing! As far as I know Modest has a completely open-source.... Maybe it's time to suggest that for the Community SSU.
If anyone here it's thinking, to solve this problem just reply the message and change the Re: for FWD: that;s not good. If are any file attached I need it in the message too...

Well, if someone have a workaround I'll be forever grateful...

Best Regards

just raise bugs to community SSU bugtracker section!

the guys making improvements have better things to do than reading the whole tmo through and search such requests like these are...

Meanwhile, would hitting reply and then changing the recipient, replacing "re:" with "fw:" etc work for you?
