Its time to reflash... too many installs and uninstalls. I want my N900 box new again

I used the GUI 770flasher for mac OSX a while back and it worked fine. but i did just the combined bin... to get a clean flash i want to use the vanilla emmc file right?

so basically use the 770flasher to flash the vanilla emmc (right?) then let the phone reboot. turn the phone off use the 770flasher to install the PR combined file, reboot and i am done?

this wipes the phone totally correct?

so if i have a backupfile, i should move it off onto the SD card to keep safe?

i really want to clean the phone up, and anxious to get moving. i suck at the command line, sad as much as i use linux (i have a ubuntu netbook, this phone, and an open pandora handheld) but the command line hates me
