You have to realize the problems to emulate machines crossarchitechture so that it becomes useful. To "emulate" such a thing as wine on an arm based architechture you would first need to emulate the x86 complete architechture and that would really make everything slow beyond imagination.
And emulating android under maemo would also seriously become a tedious task for the poor n900. The full operating system and under that the dalvik jvm. It's just not realistic.
Even older 16 bit machines like the amiga is almost impossible to get running smoothly and ever harder to get cycle-exact. Even the old 64 gives you problems with the framerate.
running WINE on the n900 obviously. Trying to emulate the full instruction set of a cisc maching on a risc machine would grind all but the most powerful to a halt. then take into consideration that the n900 will be running in 650Mhz what most native apps run in 1ghz or more, on top of overhead of emulation and api level. windows apps on the n900. not feasable.

now android.....runs on a similar platform, even uses a linux kernel.... So would it be possible to write an android api layer for maemo or meego, similar to wine on linux for x86? heck, android has been know to run on the n900. instead of dual booting, how about a few compatibility libraries.
