How not to get angry???
What are posting with a totally different issue in this thread???
How do we know, where you have hidden this package???
Look for it at least in the default Nokia folders Images, Documents, Audio files or Videos for it.

Why are you not using the Application Manager?

At a guess, he's got a cracked version of the previous DocsToGo release, and doesn't want the official one replacing it.

root

Pin: version (present-version-no-here)
Pin-Priority: 1001" >> /etc/apt/preferences
In subsequent searches for updates the apt system should not want to present notification of an update. Note that the package will never get updated if further updates appear whilst this entry resides in /etc/apt/preferences.
Thanks! Should this apply to Maemo 4 Diablo (N800/810) as well as to the N900?

OK, that's quite NB info. One first downloads the installer dtg-installer and it then initiates the download and install of the package.

Package is called docstogo.

See also the programme with a gui called PackageView. Quite useful for what you wanted / needed to know.

PS Why don't you want to update it? Sorry, curiosity I know

Thanks to Rob1n, something about the original request became clear to me

@GeraldKo: if Diablo uses the apt system then yes it will work.

Hmm - Pin doesn't seem to work for me. I'm trying to "pin" rootsh to stop asking me to update from 1.5 to 1.8...

As root, I run the following:

root
echo "Package: rootsh
Pin: version 1.5
Pin-Priority: 1001" >> /etc/apt/preferences

This seems to go through fine, although xterm doesn't give any output for this and rootsh still wants to update to 1.8...

Any ideas or other suggestions?

Thanks

same, for me. I did xterm job and the preferences is like:
Package: eff
Pin: version 0.9.2
Pin-Priority: 1001
Package: mstardict
Pin: version 0.6-4
Pin-Priority: 1001

but still tries to update.

Hmm - after running this a couple of times and restarting the phone, it now seems to have taken affect. Thanks to all posters on this one - this has been bugging me ever since 1.8 was released for rootsh many months ago!
