Thank you for this great tool. Very useful.

But parateam is right, fmcarkit 0.4 has some consistency issues:
it controls the status of transmitter (it starts/stops the transmitter when you start/stop it) but it is not controlled by the status of the transmitter (if you turn on/off the transmitter it doesn't start/stop).

Suggestions:

1) an option to decide if fmcarkit should be linked to the status of the transmitter (for my use fmcarkit should automatically be enabled whenever transmitter is on and disabled when transmitter is off).
2) another option to automatically answer to phonecalls after X seconds.

what about a plain text config file?

This is working perfectly.

For my usage, I agree with cipper, it should be automatically enabled when fm-transmitter is on, this way there would be no need for a status menu item, it would always be on when it can be used.

@Roeland: Installed and tested with the cheap FM/clock radio at home. It worked perfectly. Thank you very much. for the record, I have PR1.3, with simple FMTX, fm-boost and fmtx-faker installed.

Great! It works perfectly!(even the music will continue streaming after call, just be patient =P)

Anyway, there are a lot of FM transmitter applications today:
  • FM RDS Notify
  • Simple FMTX widget
  • FM Carkit
  • FM Boost
  • Modified FMTDX
  • T-Control
  • Am I missing something?

It would be really great if there could be an combined version of some of these applications!
Like FM RDS Notify with FM Carkit that also modifies your FMTXD(If possible)
It would make the N900 a great universal music/handsfree device
Perhaps some delvelopers could have a chat?

Is FM Carkit combined with FM boost? So if it's installed it will run when you enable car kit . . . ? If not, maybe an option for the next update?

You can set the FM transmission power to 120 permanently (FM Boost only goes up to 118) by following the steps here:

I am having problems using FM car kit.
when I call someone I can't hear anything except the device beeping in my radio. if I stop the application during the call I still can't hear anything through the device and I have to call again.
I made 3 phone calls and only one of them succeeded
