i like the rotate for everything except when making acall, it always stalls the phone and takes me ages to end the call. Any help?

You can lock the phone application to portrait mode from it's settings.

In my case, I've already set the phone mode to portrait & deactivate turning. However, my N900 still switch between portrait & landscape when a call is on display.
