The package isn't in the repo

apt-get install x11-utils
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package x11-utils is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package x11-utils has no installation candidate

I had to add the repo from:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=448731&postcount=4

How should the switch work? I tried starting up firefox and didn't notice any difference. Keyboard still missing.
If I try to use the camd it starts up the camera.

That means the keybinding isn't working. Edit /etc/xbindkeysrc.snx and try replacing F10 with F9
Try snx in desktop mode (-d switch) and tell me if the input-focus is right.

I tried with the -d and the inputfocus is still missing. changing to F9 didn't work.

But starting the applications from xterm works as a workaround

Change F9 for "Control + KP_Enter" and try pressing Ctrl+Return
By the way, when running in desktop mode, did you touch first the remote window where you want the input to go?

The last change worked.
Contol Return gives the input back.

Thanks, I've updated the package in extras-devel. Also, to avoid the need to add the tools repository, I've uploaded x11-utils to extras-devel.

Sorry, nothing seems to work. Changed f10 in xbindkeysrc.snx to Control + KP_Enter, installed x11-utils, but I cannot get the keyboard working.

BTW: I don't understand F6 or F10 anyway as the n900 does not have function keys? Again I feel I am missing something obvious...

apt-get install the latest release from the repository, it will work (to set the input focus, press Ctrl+Return)
Some F-keys are assigned to the hardware buttons, and supposedly F9-F10 are assigned to the camera button.
