I have
apt-cache policy ucf
Installed: 1.17-1osso2
Candidate: 1.17-1osso2

It is version from extras-devel

ls -al /usr/bin/ucf
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 30097 Jan 25 2010 /usr/bin/ucf

head -n 1 /usr/bin/ucf
#!/bin/sh

a) install ucf from extras-devel
or
b) modify /usr/bin/ucf
or
c) install bash

I opted for installing ucf from extras-devel and have finally got TuxPaint installed which will keep my daughter happy.

Is it possible to enable the sounds?

Phone profile must be normal (no muted). Then sounds should be working (=works_for_me). Sounds is ON by default.

There are config file /opt/tuxpaint/etc/tuxpaint/conf and commandline parameters for that:

/opt/tuxpaint/tuxpaint --sound
/opt/tuxpaint/tuxpaint --nosound

I set sound=yes in /opt/tuxpaint/etc/tuxpaint.conf but still no sound. Running tuxpaint on command line produced:

Code:
Warning: I could not set up audio for 44100 Hz 16-bit stereo.
The Simple DirectMedia Layer error that occurred was:
Could not open requested file
