Running the Sunspider[1] benchmark on the latest Fennec nightly[2], I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice, low result.



Compared to the iPhone 4 at 10902ms from a major news site[3], I would say our phone still has lots of life left.

That's not browser performance and that's not when run on an ARM CPU like in the N900. That test is run via a special command line interface to the Firefox JavaScript engine.

It's still a nice link though.

At 1 ghz it gave me 5347.0 ms, and at 600 mhz it gave me 5123.0ms :O xD

I'm running at 600MHz right now, stock kernel from PR1.3. I don't get how you could be seeing 3000ms faster time when we are on the exact same hardware and software.

You're saying you get a slower time at 1ghz?

The latest nightly is even faster.

6632ms on the stock Nokia kernel.

Right, could someone please tell me the details for the nightly repo for fennec? I've searched for this for ages and can never find the actual repo details to enter. Thanks in advance.

how is the browser working as a whole and compared to microb?
