I've had Linux as my main OS for over 10 years and beg to differ.

(Ok - Photoshop and some Windows specific app may never be available on Linux but that's hardly a reason to say Ubuntu it not a full OS).

Next you'll be moaning that Norton and Mcafee virus checkers aren't available for Ubuntu.

excuse me but photoshop is for mac and windows.

and ubuntu dosnt need anti viruses...

you are more of an app developer, and im more of a picture maker!

I've yet to find something that photoshop can do that the gimp can't (not that I've been specifically looking)... maybe your experience is different?

What other windows/mac apps are (in your opinion) stopping linux from being a "full operating system" by their absence?

Eh there are differences between GIMP and Photoshop. GIMP is not the perfect replacement for Photoshop. But for most use cases GIMP can replace Photoshop.

And I'm not sure, but you might be able to run Photoshop in WINE now.

Since when is whether or not something is a "full operating system" dependent on what third party applications are available for it?
