So basically with one contact it no longer saves the messages when new ones are sent or received. They stay there until i close the conversation and then when i reopen it they disappear. Also on messages that i send they say there still sending although they've already been received by that contact! Any ideas about this one?

have you re-booted your n900 and checked to see if this keeps happening? Installed anything from testing or devel? If so, have you tried uninstalling it, rebooting n900 and then checking conversations?
