Trying to run an apt-get install #### but its advising that i need to be in the root to perform the action.

Please can someone advise on how i get into the root from xterm so i can run the command

Install the rootsh package then type "root" without quotes in Xterm and you will become root.

or you could just do: sudo apt-get install whatever
