Hi there,

as I'm in no way a coder or so I've got a request for an application: a simple tool for searching and starting to stream shoutcast stations (www.shoutcast.com). Something along the lines of zoutube, small and simple.

For those who don't know shoutcast: it's a kind of register for internetradios. It is useable by the browser but not really optimised for small screens. It works within MicroB but not very comfortable IMHO.
As an added bonus the application can show the submitted infos about the station if this is possible.

Maybe someone more knwledgeable than me will look into this :-)

TIA and regards,
Glasswalker

Thx you two :-) I'll take a look into this :-)

Edit: OK, MediaBox works like a charm with shoutcast, only thing I'm missing is a way to serch for stations without going through every Genre and station. Or am I missing something again?

Regards,
Glassswalker

Many moons ago, I wrote a Java app to do something along these lines. Now Java/SWT runs on the N900, I could port that over and see what happens. Will be interested to see what performance is like.
