The facts are that Symbian is doing better and better, not worse. The absolute number of Symbian-based smartphones sold is increasing, as is the marketshare of these models. Source? The Q1 results that you linked to but didn't read yourself.

With TouchWiz? You must be joking. Had one TouchWiz phone in my hand for a 5 minutes and that was about enough of it. TouchWiz is very far from Sense. And with samsungs record of support I bet Galaxy S will have 0 firmware upgrades and no android 2.2.

I am in no position of telling them to go for Android, webOS, Meego, Maemo or whatever the future holds, but logic suggeest that if Nokia endorses one OS the support, services, apps etc. would finally start getting decent and fast... and huge...
If you think Symbian is not good you are very mistaken. It just needs UI improvements in the touch devices. Maemo is good, but having used the N95 8GB for a year before this, I can say that Symbian is very good too. They all have advantages and disadvantages. Maemo is more open and more powerful but has little apps. Symbian may be less powerful, but has the primary function of a phone and then a computer. Maemo is basically a computer with phone functions.

Will Shareholders force Nokia away from Symbian?

Ultimately Nokia is owned by the shareholders.

Its stock is still being hammered and downgraded by analysts on Symbian concern.

I think there is a real possibility that if the stock drops another 30% from here, Nokia will be forced to dump symbian and fast track Meego or even buy palm or even Android. No matter what Symbian fan-boys think, the shareholders will force the managements hand.

The thing is that Symbian that Nokia bought couple of years ago is now Symbian Foundation that got companies like Samsung, SE and Nokia. All of them making phones for S^3 and is more connected to Nokia future than MeeGo. It's part of the QT future of Nokia that will be first fulfilled by Harmattan/MeeGo in Q4 and Symbian^4 in Q1 2011.

S40 wont cut it on the mid and low end anymore because of Samsungs Bada. Remember that Symbians max priced devices for next year is 450 euros and is meant for low and mid end.
It's not about MeeGo vs Symbian. It's Symbian taking S40 place and MeeGo going for high end.

Trust me it's not first time i hear these analysts that know about 10% of what people here know as how these OS's really are connected to Nokia core. Buying WebOS would be throwing all the Trolltech and Symbian buying away and starting from start when non of the plans have not even seen yet. It wont happen, trust me.

Is this a slightly underclocked OMAP3630? If so, there is some gaming potential after all (especially compared to Android handsets). This CPU should easily be able to beat the crap out of our N900's OMAP3430.

If this is true then this is yet another killer device. Dont count Nokia out. I remember they wer counted out in the flip-phone game. Dont forget the massive scale they have - went from 0% share in 09 to top share in 2010. BTW its good to see NOKIA throwing punches once again. They are simply the best by a distance no matter what the haters say/think.
