No idea. I'll publish a set of low voltage 800mhz kernels in near future on my fantastic iPad compatible website. This should effectively prevent some of the heat problems (however these kernels wont work for everyone!)

I just had to make one call to my oc'ed n900. Didn't even answer it(so rude)
Result:
> cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
600000
But according to Conky it's now reaching max 750 Mhz, my second highest speed.
This are my frequencies.
125/250/500/750/875
Result:

Just created a nice desktop shortcut and script to place a button on desktop to easily switch between 900 and stock if anyone is interested. Little bit risky though as had to edit sudoers file to allow all with no password.

Woooaaa, hold on. So if I understand this correctly, cpu is constantly at 600 mhz during phonecalls (or only when initiating a phonecall?). If that's the case, wouldn't longer phonecalls (1 hour+) be dangerous for the cpu, according to Nokia? Maybe that is why they advise against oc's and why the standard kernel maxes at 600. Now that I wrote that, it really doesn't make sense, since even on oc'd kernels the value decreases back to 600...

Could it be that the N900 running with an OC kernel became self-aware.. In this state it realizes its owner is trying to hurt it (or maybe just dislikes the company) and shuts down to the oblivious 600 MHz to save itself.
