What are the best options for accessing Gmail on the N900 via the web, i.e., via MicroB, not via Modest or MfE?

There's the regular web browser interface at http://mail.google.com, and you can also turn on the simple HTML version there. Any other options? Is there a web interface for Android phones that also works on the N900 browser?

I just use the regular web interface. However, I use https:// , and not http:// with that link. Works nicely. A tap, or double-tap incidentally fits well with expanding the message part to full-screen when reading. And I don't use the simple html version btw, there's no need - the normal one works fine.

Right on about the https. My regular web interface has chat and other gadgets that get in the way on the small N900 screen, so I'm looking for an alternative.

If you look at the bottom of the page for the 'normal' version, there is a link called 'older version' - for the NITs, it seems to have the best balance of functionality.

For a really simple interface use:
https://mail.google.com/mail/x/gdla

There is a similar simple interface for google reader:
http://www.google.com/reader/i

I have used several types of access:

And of course Nokia Messaging application. This at least provides an alert as a message comes into your inbox. The web access URLs give no alert.

Try them all, and pick what works best for you. Helpful to "stay logged in"
