Hello everyone,

thank you for this great site. I want to develope my own apps, but also want to publish them on my private website. I tried it, but my .install-file can only be downloaded not directly installed on my N900.

Is there a script behind? How can I publish my apps on my site?

Thank you in advance.

Gee

Maybe you could set up your own repository?

This thread should probably be in the Development forum.

What did your .install file contain? Can you link to the page, if it's still on there?

I just uploaded a .install file for testing (vagalume) and it contained the original:

[install]
catalogues = extras
package = vagalume

[extras]
name = Maemo Extras
uri = http://repository.maemo.org/extras/
dist = fremantle
components = free non-free

As on your site my computer is asking me to open it with my mobile, my webserver just want to save is as a text file.

Thank you for your help!

Is this a MIME-type issue? Does MicroB only recognise .install files if the web server sends the correct MIME type?

Thank you for your quick response. Which MIME-Types should be defined in my Apache ?

try "application/x-install-instructions" for the .install files.

found it here:
