Is this a problem with ONLY PC105 keyboards, or bluetooth keyboards in general?

WI thought the biggest problem I had with Android was that it didn't have Bluetooth keyboard HID support (at last my keyboard supports both SPP and HID.. and DOES work on my Droid under SPP with an application I downloaded).

Why is it that Bluetooth keyboards worked almost magically well on the N8x0's but this thread makes me think that the N900 seems crippled out of the box for bluetooth keyboard support? It seems like it'd be pretty important to have.

Good luck on this project, btw. This is definitely a much needed functionality.

qobi,

Thank you for compiling this info. Here's my analysis:

1. 12 data points (i.e., responses)
2. 5 people working / 7 people not working
3. only "lwalker" is working without having done so first before the OTA -- he is using an SU-8W
4. of the 7 "not working" none are the SU-8W
5. Only "beel" is not working after working before an OTA upgrade.

Summary: other than "beel" (who is not working) if
* you're using a non-"SU-8W" keyboard and
* you did not get your keyboard working before doing the OTA upgrade
you do not have bluetooth keyboard functionality.

I'm not sure what this may mean.

I got my keyboard working before doing an OTA update, but after the update it has not worked. I'm using a Logitech MX5500 Keyboard (though I'd like to end up with one of the folding Palm keyboards).

Sorry, correction from me, I had forgotten: I paired my SU-8W with an N900 before the week 51 update, but because of too many bad pixels I backed it up and exchanged it for a NEW N900 and RESTORED EVERYTHING. I guess this means the original pairing as well? Sequence was:

1 Pair SU-8W with N900 pre-week 51
2 Backup N900 to SD card
3 Exchange for a new N900 pre-week 51
4 Restore everything
5 About an hour later the week 51 update happened
6 Forgot about the pairing
7 Few days later edited main.conf for basic BT KB support, found pairing defined but not working, so deleted KB and paired again
8 Then few days later did qobi's exercise to get keyboard fully working

So, sorry to mislead, I forgot about the pre-51 pairing on the old N900 that probably carried over to the new N900?

Thanks to all for all the help in these forums.

I might be posting this in the wrong topic area but I am having major issues with –

Bluetooth
FM Transmitter
Wifi

Yes, before I press on I may be asking a little too much wanting to use them all at once but I’ll give you’re the scenario

1) Using the N900 for music thought the car stereo, this works fine on its own, however when I get the handset paired (sometimes) with my Nokia CK7-W kit it stops the music and takes the call through the blue tooth, however when ending the call it keeps the Blue Tooth connection and puts the music through the Bluetooth!!
2) Using Bluetooth on its own does not allow me to end the call!
3) Sometimes it then turns the WIFI off!
4) Hit and Miss Connecting to my DELL laptop

I’m a bit new to this forum (I’m not a developer, just a budding novice!) can anyone tell me where to report this as a bug or workround?

I presume we are all having the same issues with this!

I don't have the courage to read all 160 messages but this message is just to report that I was able to hook up my bluetooth AZERTY (French) keyboard prior to the 2.2009.51-1 update and that it hasn't worked since. This leads me to conclude that there was a serious regression in the bluetooth stack in the last firmware update.

Sooooo... nobody knows the answers to these questions, or what? if I'm ever to consider getting an N9xx for the future, it might be handy to know these details.
