Hi
I ran internet radio today and within 20-25 mins used 50mb!

Does that sound correct??? Seems a hell of a lot to me!!

I just recorded a "Real Audio" stream from Ibiza Sonica...45 minutes @ 112Kb = 36MB mp3 file.

This is why internet radio stations should use AAC+ HR for mobile streams

A 128K stream is in bits, so it's about 16K/second. 3600 seconds, that's 56.25 MB/hour.

Sounds fine to me.

Even at half rate, it's still huge for a data link. Internet radio a la long means wifi unless you get a really cheap plan. If you do, where do you live?

So far, I've only added AAC+ 24k streams to my Internet radio bookmarks. I can listen to them over GSM while travelling to and from work, with no need to ever switch over to 3G.

I don't care how much it uses. I use wifi with flat rate.
