i would say that if someone cant see 3 letters in one spec page, same letters missing in another page, and not make the connection should not be allowed to operate anything more advanced then a pencil (lets just say i am tired of the epidemic that is willful ignorance).

Whether I quoted it or not the point is that it is not CLEAR and concise. If it supports MMS as you say then they should have put MMS next to SMS instead of writing vague fine print. It's pretty obvious that you can't send an mms to a phone that doesn't receive MMS so I don't see the point in having the fine print there.

Plus I was told (from someone actually using the phone) that the phone doesn't do MMS currently so i'm not just basing this off what I read.

i think it will be the same as for symbian devices - app&maps are free, you have to pay for (turn-by-turn) navigation

MMS is such an old technology I don't understand why it shouldn't have it, unless it's apple...

I'm sure your friend didn't look too carefuly, there's surely an menu entry for "insert media" in the sms app. Ask him again.

I still find it hard to believe, but anyway... as Maemo is an open development platform, no one's stopping the community to add this functionality.

Same here... and I wonder how all those people who yell "I want one now!" or "Where is the 'place your order' button?" have so much money to spend? One thing is for sure, I won't charge it on a creditcard :-) If the price goes down in a year, and If I can sell some of my own stuff on ebay... probably I'll get one. For $715... NO WAY.

I really like it, I wish it was about $450.

I bought it. I... I couldn't help, absolutely.

How many of us have already done so?

Not only software, but the integer OS (menus, offices, etc ...).

If Nokia has not developed all Maemo in Vertical mode, in addition to horizontal mode, the device will not be usable with one hand. Many people probably do not buy it for that.
