That would be nice! Just something that does a check for a CUPS daemon and enables the print menu item... Is there a place to file bugs or enhancement requests for this?

Hey All:

I just got a BT keyboard for my 810 so I would like to get this Abiword going...

DL'ed the most recent file and said cannot install, missing libs...

Is there somewhere I can DL the complete package of all files needed?

I think I might have it...

Tried qole's link to repository but it failed to refresh...several times.

Went ahead and edited that link to end at just the "devel/" and found it there...in the process of DL'ing Abiword now which is 8 mb rather than the 3.8 mb file located in this thread...

coosbaytv: Yes, you have to enable Extras-devel in your Application Manager to install from the repository. After you install Abiword, disable Extras-devel again. Otherwise you might get notifications for "updates" for software that isn't ready for anyone but testers.

The thread should now be called abiword 2.7.5
Nice release, can't wait to get the final revision in extra, it's fast, it's light and it works

I tried a relatively large .doc (some 40 pages, a few embedded images), saved with quole's easy debian abiword, and it became stuck. What helps:
Either
1) enable virtual memory (128kB)
or
2) start from command line.
However, I will give it a try. Will be a great step foward if it works.

Did you try to open the document by tapping on it?
I did it once and it completely killed my abiword installation, best way to open large documents is to launch abiword and then open the document.

Yes, I noticed the new version, but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to rename the thread. If it was to be renamed, it should probably be to Abiword 2.8 beta, as the 2.7.x releases are beta versions of the final 2.8, I believe.

usually, when you have persistant problems with an application, you need to remove it AND the prefs file(s) before reinstalling ...
Where does one find these preference files? I am having unsolvable problems with fbreader and am silll looking for a solution..grasping at straws!

http://bugzilla.abisource.com

They're focusing on critical bugs for the 2.8 release right now, so it's not likely to be dealt with immediately, but getting it on the list will at least get Hub to look at it.

Make sure to set the Platform to Nokia Internet Tablet.
