Hi,

I watched a DVD on my tablet this weekend for the first time. It was a very pleasant experience and I would like to watch more.

I'm curious though, are there any video players that will remember the last position in a video? So I can exit from watching the movie and come back to it exactly where I left off. I take this for granted on the ipod and palm. It seems like a pretty needed feature if you watch movies with any regularity.

thanks,
Frank

mplayer to an extant does this.

If you're in the middle of a movie/show, then you press 'q' or escape, then it will remember where it was and will show the file name followed by "resume from: xx:xx:xx" indicating the time where you were.

The limitation is that it only works for the most recently viewed file, so if you start watching another show, then it will lose the place in the first one.

AFAIK Knots does, for both local and streamed videos.

Would you like to add this as a bug to the media player?

Well I would but it's fixed in Fremantle.

Does anybody knows how to fix this? At the moment I have the same problem with podcasts from gpodder which I play with the default media player.
It resumes video files but not audio files. Like mentioned in the bug ticket.
