Is it possible to change the LED pattern when there is a new message in Chat?

I think so. I ran across this page some time ago.

N810 LED Howto

It gives examples of how d-bus calls the specific patterns and colors of the LED.

if you look in /etc/mce/mce.ini for the pattern PatternCommunicationChat, you could change it to something else.

I assume you could also create a custom pattern and add it to mce.ini calling it PatternCustom (or something like that). Then you would find where the chat notification refers to the LED pattern, and simply change it.

This actually sounds like a fun little hack. I'll give it a try myself and post back if I have any luck.
